SSW Automobile Maintenance Exam to be Available via Prometric Centers in Sri Lanka from January 2027!
 

Viron Japan Academy is proud to announce a monumental achievement for Sri Lanka and for all aspiring youth who dream of building a career in Japan’s Automobile Maintenance sector.

In response to our official advocacy and persistent requests, official confirmation was received that arrangements are underway to conduct the SSW Automobile Maintenance Exam in Sri Lanka via Prometric Exam Centers starting January 2027!

1.5 Years of Relentless Advocacy & Viron’s Historic Milestone

Since early 2025, Viron Japan Academy has actively advocated for the opening of the SSW Automobile Maintenance examination in Sri Lanka. Although initial responses indicated that Prometric centers in Sri Lanka were unable to host the test at that time, we remained undeterred.
 

To bridge this gap, on April 22, 2026, Viron Japan Academy independently (without third-party involvement) organized and conducted the SSW Automobile Maintenance exam in Sri Lanka for nearly 150 students from our 2025–2026 batches. Thanks to rigorous training and expert guidance, our academy achieved a remarkable 89% pass rate.

Phase 3 Initiative and Official Confirmation

For the July 2026 intake, nearly 300 students enrolled in our Automobile Maintenance program. Recognizing their future, our Managing Director, Mr. Loranjan Subash Sesiri Perera, submitted a formal petition to Prometric to either host the exam at their centers or grant approval for another private sitting.

This effort culminated in today’s official confirmation that the examination will be fully integrated into Sri Lanka’s Prometric test centers starting January 2027.

A Message on Responsibility, Safety, and Genuine Skill Training

While this news is a massive victory, it comes with great responsibility.

Automotive maintenance directly impacts road safety and human lives. Japanese employers require genuine, highly skilled, and ethical professionals who take full responsibility for their craft. If untrained individuals are sent without proper hands-on experience, this sector risks being closed to Sri Lanka in the future.
 

We regret to observe that certain profit-driven agencies are currently misleading students by claiming that "a pass certificate alone is sufficient for employment in Japan." Shortcut methods and deceptive promises do not last.

At Viron Japan Academy, our objective is not merely to produce certificate holders, but to train highly competent automotive professionals who represent Sri Lanka with pride and excellence in Japan.
